NEW SCHOOL & NEW PROGRAM FOR FEED RIO RANCHO KIDS
School starts for elementary students in Rio Rancho on August 6. Feed Rio Rancho Kids (FRRK) will be active again this year as we add a fourth school and a new program. The Democratic Party of Sandoval County is one of our two partners in this endeavor and we want to share our good news.
The 2024-25 school year will find us providing 300 packets of weekend food for most months. Stapleton Elementary is the fourth school to participate with FRRK.
FRRK needs your help with a new program to provide much needed supplies for some of our teachers. We are looking for donations of the following:
Spiral notebooks
Loose leaf lined paper
Tissues
#2 pencils
Colored pencils
Markers
Hand sanitizer
Wipes for desktops
Teachers frequently find themselves spending their own money on these items. We decided this would be another good way to assist schools with low income populations as they are often the first to run out of supplies.
Distribution will be done through the social workers we work with at each school each week. Storage will be at the FRRK space at the Unitarian Universalist Westside Congregation (UUWC) at 1650 Abrazo Road NE. Along with DPSC, UUWC is our second partner.
Any of the above items that you purchase may be brought to First Friday at the Range in Bernalillo, Second Saturday at M’Tucci’s on Unser, the DPSC headquarters in Corrales at 3949 Corrales Road, Room 110, or to UUWC. We, of course, accept cash donations, also. Any questions you may have will be promptly responded to by FRRK co-founders, Karen Schafer, karenjean44@gmail.com or Kitty Perez, kittyperez639@gmail.com.
