Joan Baker is the Political Affairs Director for the UA Local 412, Plumber & Pipefitters Union. She was mostly recently awarded as a Woman of Influence by Albuquerque Business First for her work in bringing skilled trades training to rural and tribal communities, her focus and gender equality in the skilled trades, and her work on the early childhood constitutional amendment.
Joan is a former chair of the Democratic Party of Valencia County and continues to support county parties in her current role. As a delegate member of the New Mexico Federation of Labor- AFLCIO, New Mexico Building & Construction Trades Council, and President of the New Mexico Workers First PAC, Joan is working hard to ensure workers rights and the values of working families are upheld in New Mexico.
