March Elections in Sandoval County

There are numerous municipal elections in Sandoval County in March 2024. Election day is Tuesday, March 5th.
Besides the City Council races in Rio Ranch, highlighted in another part of this newsletter, there are council races in Bernalillo, Cuba and Jemez Springs.
Also, within Rio Rancho voters will be able to decide the fates of 3 bond issues, briefly described below:
1. Roads – $10.6 Million
What is proposed is a bond question in the amount of $10,600,000 to be used for designing, constructing, repairing, preserving, rehabilitating, enhancing and otherwise improving roads and underlying utility infrastructure.
2. Public Safety – $4.2 Million
What is proposed is a bond question in the amount of $4,200,000 to be used for designing, constructing, repairing, preserving, rehabilitating, enhancing and otherwise improving public safety facilities and repairing, replacing or otherwise improving public safety vehicles, apparatuses, and equipment.
3. Quality of Life Facilities – $1.2 Million
What is proposed is a bond question in the amount of $1,200,000 to be used for designing, constructing, renovating, acquiring, rehabilitating, improving, and equipping public quality of life facilities.
All General Obligation Bonds are to be paid off through property taxes. There would be NO property tax increase to pay off the bonds. Instead, if approved, planned property tax decreases will not go through.

Since Rio Rancho has, by far, the largest population of the municipalities in the county below is information about polling places in the city for EARLY voting.
