Deb Dapson, Candidate for District 1
Deborah “Deb” Dapson, is a small business owner, has lived and worked in Rio Rancho District 1 since 2009. She has been in many leadership positions in the Democratic party as well as in business and civic organizations. She is running in order to be a voice for her district.
Alexandria Piland, Candidate for District 4
Alexandria “Alex” Piland is retired after 25 years teaching at CNM/TVI. She has been an active democrat and currently serves as Chair for the Democratic Party of Sandoval County. She has been an owner of two small businesses in Sandoval County and has lived in District 4 since 1996.
Aleta “Tweety” Suazo, Candidate for District 6
Aleta Paisano-Suazo, is from the pueblos of Acoma (Eagle Clan) and Laguna (Lizard Clan) and is better known as “Tweety”. Tweety retired from Albuquerque Public School (APS) District as an Administrator in 2005. In 2012, Tweety worked for 4 years as the Student Activity & Rights Specialist, at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI), a Post Secondary Tribal College. In 1994, Tweety was appointed by President Clinton to the National Advisory Council on Indian Education (NACIE), and in 2021, Tweety served her tribal community as a member of the Acoma Board of Education. Tweety is currently the Vice Chair of the Democratic Party of Sandoval County (DPSC) and has been a resident of Rio Rancho for 37 years, with 32 years in District 6.
Election day is Tuesday, March 5th.
